I know better than to compare my stuff with that of people like but seriously, not only is it killing me that I have no time for decent art right now, but also, everything I've done so far, everything in my "gallery," is...blah. Pathetically unimaginative. No redeeming color schemes, interesting angles, technical or thematic quality, and I realize I'm constantly trying to draw the same or similar things because I have never succeeded at that *one* thing. Ugh.

Just needed to vent. I realize that this, combined with recent comments I've made, will give off the impression of bipolarism.

Edit II - Seriously thinking of moving accounts. So I can still leave this old crap up since most of it isn't on my laptop(someday it will encourage me about "improvement" **snerk**)and still start anew.

This is more of a personal thing I've noticed.
Paint Tool SAI's lovely lines and pen flow have made me lazy. I mean REALLY lazy. This is not good.
Since the brush tool applies color differently (i.e. mixes by itself without constant tabbing), I'm just smashing things together and deeming it good.

So, resolved:

After 1 more anime-ish pic - ONE more that I put A LOT of effort into - I'm going to try to do a serious realistic painting. Epic or portrait, doesn't matter. Just so I don't get into the habit of relying on the excellence of a program instead of improving.

I don't know if anyone else has ever had this problem, but I'd like advice on how he/she/you(!) overcame it.
